So I guess I'm starting a web journal.

I've been thinking about it for a while, but it only came up because I wanted to post to some other peoples' LiveJournal pages.

So now I have to fill this thing. With all the highfalutin' theoretical talk going on in theatre blogs recently, I've been wanting to discuss the creation of theatre from a day-to-day craftsman perspective.

Theory is fine, but someone has to build the damn thing, and build it so it works. That's my job.

I'm starting a new show as writer-director-designer, and for the first time, "choreographer." It's called "That's What We're Here For (an american pageant)" and unlike most of my shows, I have very little idea of what it is as I go into it.

It opens in June at The Brick in Williamsburg, as part of the $ELLOUT FESTIVAL.

More here as I figure it out . . .
