Secular Transnational Professional Class

If you haven't seen this . . .

Billmon at Whiskey Bar ("Free Thinking in a Dirty Glass") has posted a comparison of a recent op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal with a classic piece of, um, "editorializing" from the past that gives me pause.

Shake hands with your Uncle Joe, my boy . . .

You can read some of the WSJ op-ed here at National Review online, but for the whole thing, you'll have to register at WSJ.

Of course, as someone raised in Cos Cob, CT (part of Greenwich, which apparently -- as per the WSJ -- is the home of "the professional class Democrats of today"), I am myself part of the problem, so I may not be one to be trusted. Apparently, if I'd come from a couple miles down the road in Stamford, I'd be okay . . .
