Hey, speaking of 801, is the re-mastered live album much different from the original version? The original's one of my all-time faves.

I don't have any of the recent remasters of the Eno/EG albums - I pretty much bought them all as they came out in the mid-to-late 80s, and still have my original CDs (or, in some cases, LPs). I think I got the CD of 801 Live in 1989 . . . dear god (I've had that almost HALF my LIFE?). I've had almost no money to buy anything for a few years, so I try to avoid finding out about things I would want to buy. I knew they remastered all the Eno albums, but didn't know 801 Live was in there. Damn.

The CD I've had for so long sounds really good, especially for a live album.

I know the feeling.

My thousands of elpees and thousand CDs are in a storage place a couple miles down the road. I go pick up a couple dozen CDs at a time, for encoding into mp3s. Heck, I don't even have something to PLAY the elpees at the moment. In the past four years, I think I've bought 6 albums for myself -- I just couldn't resist "Petra Haden Sings The Who Sell Out."

I got the 801 live thing when it first came out on LP, then as a CD.
