Ah, Cinema Village...my first year in New York, my dorm was two blocks away. Site of a couple of interesting college memories...There was someone I knew in my dorm who was completely shocked I had never seen anything by the Marx Brothers, so much so that a week and a half later, he knocked on my door, and when I answered, simply pulled me out the door and brought me to the "Day at the Races/Night at the Opera" double feature they'd just started that day.
The weirdest blind date I ever had was also there - for some reason we'd decided to see their double bill of "Blade Runner" and "A Clockwork Orange," which is probably the worst idea for a date ever.
(Speaking of movies -- you may want to look for a book called "1001 movies you must see before you die." It may be great fun for you to flip through.)
