Oh, hey, that short film by Daniel McKleinfeld that I acted in and lit and wrote about HERE and HERE and HERE -- it's up online as one of the finalists in the contest it was created for.
It's now called Revenge of the Prom. It's five minutes long or so (there's a six-minute version that's a little bit better, I think, but it had to be cut down for the contest). The main page for the contest is HERE.
So please check it out and vote for our little horror-comedy, if you so desire. Thank you. Won't you?

Revenge
Date: 2008-03-18 08:14 pm (UTC)From: (Anonymous)You know, I really am not sure if the five or six minute version is better. I do like the slightly longer version of the opening better, but for the kitchen scene... I dunno. Given the choice, I go with the longer version, partly because I enjoy the dialogue, and more importantly because I like having a bit more of a rest between the slasher scene and the director going crazy---it's nice getting a little time to see him as an actual director, no crazier than any other director in the midst of shooting.
But I can definitely see making a case for Faster Is Better---after all, if the plot *can* be sustained without the extra stuff, maybe it should be. Then again, I'm the guy who thinks the too-long-for-Romero cut of Dawn of the Dead is the best cut, so I may be arguing against myself here.
