Yes, I'm in NYC. The show goes up in June -- six dates between the 17th and the 25th, with possibly more of a real run/extension in July and/or August. The concern with not apologizing here comes not so much from my esthetics as from my practical process. Most of these actors have worked with me before and believe in me and my esthetics, but usually I have the entire show in my head going into the rehearsal process and I'm always strong and secure at all points of the process, and I know how to make actors feel comfortable and give them everything they need to do excellent work. On this show, I've had to start by admitting to them that I don't know everything and that I will need their help and patience. Wonderfully, I have a crew of people who are talented and trust me. I've been doing this long enough to have a solid reputation and some respect; I just need to trust this.
