I think in metaphors and similes. I tend to direct through them as well.
It's only now occurred to me that I always see the craft/workman part of my job in terms of chairs and sculpture (sometimes painting), and the art/inspiration part in terms of light (and sometimes music).
Makes sense, of course, but I never quite realized the full extent of it until now.
